Pioneer students help speech-language students with technology

Pioneer Elementary Students love to be creative and find new ways to use their technology to aid in their innovation projects. Recently, students in Justin Towner’s innovation class used a 3D printer to create a model of a mouth for their peers in speech-language therapy.

Jordan Johannes, Pioneer’s Speech-Language Pathologist, uses the model mouth with a playdough tongue to show her students where their tongues should be placed while trying to pronounce certain sounds. Johannes’s students use the model and a mirror to practice while playing fun learning games during the day.

Here are some photos of students using the 3-D model during speech-language therapy sessions.
